Request a lower floor if carrying heavy luggage, as there's no elevator and stairs can be steep.

The staff are extremely friendly and outstandingly friendly, overall. It has good-sized rooms with coffee, a kettle and closet space.
In a hotel like this - bad smell is unacceptable.

The place is charming, the staff are very good.
The location is favourable and fantastic, it's close to Hyde Park and Notting hill gate underground station, tube station and bus stops, and Kensington Palace and gardens. Bayswater district is worth looking into. The king room is cheap with shower and nice balcony, for example: )

Location is great. Stuff friendly, rooms reasonably clean.
There was only one hook for the towel in our bathroom. No other hooks, no shelves, no place to put a toiletries bag on the sink. Breakfast room is on the smaller side but nothing really terrible, we came early and were perfectly fine.

Had marvellous and stunning location close to city centre. The rooms were brilliant and reasonably spacious, were equipped with extra beds squeezed in, the bathroom and balcony. Eggs and bangers provided in the morning.

Location is near Notting Hill Gate Metro and near Hyde Park in a relative quiet area (nice to stroll in the evening or visit Potobello Rd. Hotel is suited in a very characteristic house in a quiet street with direct connection to the more busy Bayswater main road. Great places to eat nearby.
All rooms are only reachable by stairs. Our room was 4 stair cases up. The room was small and basic. Only one power outlet. Bed was terrible! Breakfast is very basic: toast with jam or cornflakes with melk. But also the breakfast room is very crammed.

The unique charm of this hotel lies in its classic Nineteenth Century Town House design, with an excellent central staircase that adds character. Although the rooms are compact, they come equipped with necessary comforts, like a functional fan and windows that open fully for fresh air.
The furniture feels very much like a throwback to the 50s and 60s, with some dated fixtures. The bathroom setup lacks sufficient space for toiletries. It's important to note that guests will need to leave their room key at the desk whenever they exit, which may feel a bit odd.

The staff were very helpful and kind.
The room was full of junk or broken furniture; the carpet was very dirty; the beds (with wheels) moved; no elevator; the water could not be regulated at all (extreme hot or cold water for shower) and the wash basin was too low (good for kids). May be such issues are common in most hotels in Central London. Out of my four trips to London over the past years, only one was good (from hotel experience point of view). The pictures in the internet about the rooms deceived me.

The location was fantastic just a few minutes walk from the Notting Hill underground station.
The bathroom and the restaurant were quite small.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Tube station nearby. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Close to the Notting Hill markets.
Being on the fourth floor (fifth level) with no elevator, with steep norrow stairs after the second floor. This in itself is not a deal breaker but something you may like to check up on. The worst aspect of the stay was the terrible water supply (possibly a fourth floor issue)!!! The water in the shower literally just dribbled out. The water was bad but I'd still go back as it was a good value budget hotel - just adjust your expectations.

I really appreciated the friendly staff and the clean, spacious room, making it a nice base to explore nearby Kensington Gardens, just a short walk of about 1 km away, and the charming local cafes that added a lovely touch to my strolls.

The location was excellent, right next to kessington gardens and easy access to city centre. Staff were very friendly!
hotel room was disguisting. Bed sheets were dirty, and the throw had what can only be described as snots on it. The walls were dirty and the shower was rusty and disgusting. Room had great potential but was wasted by poor matienance.
